What does this really mean for Phantom Abyss' sake, you ask? Well, simply put it means more mechanics, harsher and more complex traps, a greater variety of levels, additional abilities and modifiers to apply, and even more game modes that challenge the way this title is fundamentally played.

So, it’s a platforming rogue-lite. I’m good with that. Collecting these treasures will extend your own abilities, such as granting a double jump or lengthening the duration of your slide. You also have a whip, which can be used to swing yourself around.

The devs should have added a few default phantoms that start with you, even in a temple that no other player has visited before, just Phantom Abyss to at least give the illusion that the phantom gimmick is working, and maybe makes the player feel a sense of danger as more and more of these phantoms die off.
